Shana Simmons (Shana Simmons Dance) and PJ Roduta (Else Collective) are presenting the first iteration of an extended project delving into community practices surrounding the fall harvest time in Northern European cultures.
Focusing on the ideas of harvest, fire, the thinned veil, and the mystical time where communities celebrate and honor their ancestral non-living persons, this immersive experience takes the audience through falling leaves, the rhythms of the season, and the community experiences from ancient practices through dance and music.
This first iteration is a taster of what's to come! Roduta and Simmons are seeking audience feedback from this first dive into interpretive research. The duo would like to continue developing these themes into a full length production for 2025.
